victimized: Tshepiso wants his R560 back.

Sekgosese - FEW WEEKS back a stranger believed to be a foreign national went to Makoro's house in Kwatane, Ga-Phooko village and allegedly ripped him off his money after pretending to be a Carpenter who deals much with couch makeovers .

"...a Zimbabwean guy came to my place and said he deals with cove...ring sofas...he told me he stays at Lemondokop village [in Sekgosese area] at Ramatseba family", said Makoro.

After a moment long of persuasion, the unknown 'Carpenter' promised to cover Makoro's couches for an amount of R2000-00, however Makoro had to first pay R600-00 deposit to have the work done.

"[After the agreement] we then went to P&L [Hardware in Roerfontein village] together to buy the material he wanted... we bought few things which costed about R80-00. He then told me that i must give him R560-00 so that he can go to Tzaneen [alone] to buy the things[material] that we didn't get at P&L [hardware]. So i gave him", he said.

He said he gave him the money because he trusted him.

"...from there i never saw him and he can't be reached on his cellphone," added Makoro who wants his money back.

It looks like 'Mr Fix it' has so far managed to scam a number of people.

Two families from Ga-Mamaila village were also scammed. One family was ripped off R1000-00 and the other R250-00.

The victims don't know his names but only have his fake residential address and cellphone number that is no longer in use.

Warrant Officer Mphalela Mashao of Sekgosese Police said they are aware of such crime.

He advised community members not to pay strangers money until the work is fulfilled
